1. Features for the Visually Impaired:
We have simplified this web page's layout for easier navigation by our visually
impaired users and put it in a separate window. You can use this window to navigate the entire web site via the large text links at the bottom of this page, or you can close this window and use framed navigation on the home page. In addition, several changes have been made to the original site to make it easy to use for visually impaired readers. For example, all pictures and pages on the NJSBF website have been given titles, so that they can be read by text-to-speech scanners.
2. Audio NJSBF Publications:
The New Jersey State Bar Foundation maintains
audio and
video tape
recordings of many of their publications, in addition to the web page versions
for on-screen viewing and printing. Several of these are also available
online using streaming audio format.
The following four articles can be accessed from this web page in
RealAudio® format.
- The Disability Law Primer
- Law Points for Senior Citizens
- To Your Health: Your Consumer Rights
in Managed Health Care
- Educational Guide for Trial Jurors
- Students' Rights Handbook
- Aids and The Law in New Jersey: A Practical Guide
- Consumer's Guide to New Jersey Law
- Domestic Violence: The Law and You
In order to listen to the audio version of these publications, you need to have
RealPlayer® software on your computer, or you can download
it for FREE using the link at right.
On the contents pages for the online RealAudio® versions, each article
is divided into a number of sections, which you may listen to in or out of sequence.
Just click on the section title you wish to hear. RealPlayer®
will automatically open and play the file. You can also replay a section as many times as
you like. In order to minimize the size of the audio files, the longer ones have been
divided into Part I and Part II, as shown for example in the Housing section of
The Disability Law Primer.
If you prefer, you may save the audio file to your hard drive and listen to it at
a later time. Just right click the section title and choose Save Target
As (for Microsoft Internet Explorer) or Save Link As (for Netscape Navigator).
You can then save the audio file to your computer from the Save As window.
In the online web page versions, each article begins with a Table of
Contents, after which the entire text is available to read from the screen or to send
to a printer.
